A tradition built on quality
LAZE d.o.o. is a family-owned sawmill from Kakanj that has been processing wood since 1992, with sawn beech timber as its main product.
From 1992 to today
LAZE was founded in Kakanj in 1992 by the Kovač family, in an area whose forests have always been rich in beech. The business started modestly, with a small sawmill and a handful of employees, at a time when wood processing in this part of Bosnia was passed down through generations as a craft, not just a trade.
As the company grew, so did its reputation. Customers recognized the consistency in quality and the respect for agreed deadlines, and LAZE gradually became a reliable supplier of sawn timber to furniture manufacturers, construction companies, and wholesalers across the region. Introducing FSC certification confirmed what the company had long practiced: a responsible approach to the forest and its resources.
Today the company is still run by the Kovač family, led by Enver Kovač. Over time the offering has expanded, and today, while beech remains one of our main sources of revenue, it also includes fir, spruce, and oak, along with additional products such as log timber, tongue-and-groove flooring, and wall paneling. What hasn't changed is the approach to business: quality raw material, consistent delivery, and a partnership with every customer.
Beech is at the heart of what we do
Sawn beech timber remains one of our main sources of revenue today and the reason customers know us. We follow beech from harvest to delivery, backed by FSC certification confirming a responsible approach to the forest, and we deliver it to the required dimensions, moisture content, and quantities.
Alongside beech, we also offer sawn timber from fir, spruce, and oak, based on customer needs and specifications.
